Quail Creek Ranch takes pride in the horses we raise for performance and ranch work. We have combined the characteristics we feel are important to produce a top ranch horse. A horse that can go all day whether it’s roping, reining, or out on the trail working cattle, a horse that’s nice to be around and good to look at too.

We have tried to accumulate mares with the dispositions, conformation and bloodlines that will cross and produce working cow horses that look good and are good to be around. Our mares have all been used and proven in the arena and out on the ranch-working cattle. They are proven producers of quality quarter horses.

We feel that conformation and disposition along with proven bloodlines are what is the basis for top working horses. Some of our bloodlines include Smart Zanolena, Smart Chic Olena, Quincy Sun Dun, Watch Tyree Two, Watch Joe Jack, Two Eyed Jack, Wimpy George, Woods Lil Peppy by Doctor Wood by Doc O Lena some of the most proven performance horses in American Quarter horse history. And good looks go a long ways to satisfy even the pickiest person’s taste. Disposition is always important whether it be for an older horse or starting a young one. They need to be responsive and able to learn and retain what is taught to them willingly. Plus they need to be easy and safe to be around for the people riding and handling them.

Quail Creek Ranch has chosen some of the top quarter horse bloodlines that fill these characteristics. Some of our bloodlines are Zan Parr Bar, Two Eyed Jack, Quincy Sun Dun, Snipper Reed, Chex That Out, some of the most outstanding proven halter and performance horses to produce foals in the last few years. Their record both inside the show arena and out speaks for itself. Good foundation bloodlines are always worth their weight in gold for owners. These bloodlines are known for quiet, well-built horses that can go many directions and handle whatever is thrown at them.
